Your favorite pajamas should spend more time on your child than in a special laundry pile. But when a pair feels this soft, you may wonder whether your usual wash routine will treat it kindly. The good news: caring for Soluna™ does not need to become another project.
The tricky part is sorting through advice that treats every soft fabric as the same fabric. A tip for a cotton sweatshirt may not suit a stretchy pajama, and one brand's instructions may not match another's. Start with the care label on your own pair, then build a simple routine around it.
The short version
For Soluna™ Bamboo pajamas, our current care instructions call for a cold, gentle wash with similar colors. Turn the pajamas inside out, then tumble dry on low or hang them to dry. Skip bleach, high heat, fabric softeners and harsh stain treatments, and do not iron the print.
Think of the label as the recipe for that particular pair. You would not use the same oven setting for every dish, and you do not need to use the same laundry setting for every fabric. If your sewn-in label gives different directions, follow it and ask us about the difference.
1. Read the label before the first wash
Take a quick look at the washing and drying instructions while the pair is still new. Snap a photo if you find small care labels hard to read beside the washing machine. You can also check the Product care section on the Little Sprouts Soluna™ Zippy page.
Keep that reference with the pajamas rather than relying on memory. A grandparent, partner or babysitter may handle the next load. A simple note that says “cold, gentle, low heat” saves everyone some guesswork.
Do not carry these directions over to every item in the same drawer. Different fabrics, trims and prints can need different care. For another H&B line or a boutique piece, check that item's instructions separately.
2. Give the load a quick sort
Put similar colors together and turn the pajamas inside out. Check the pile for rough items, open hook-and-loop fasteners or anything that could catch the fabric. There is no need to turn this into a perfect sorting system; a quick check is enough to make it a habit.
Avoid stuffing the machine just to finish the basket in one load. Follow your machine's load guidance so clothes have room to move. Keep any items that require a different temperature or special cleaning method in their own load.
If you use a laundry bag, choose one meant for washing clothes and follow its instructions. It does not replace the right cycle or temperature. Treat it as an optional way to keep small pieces together, not a requirement for owning soft pajamas.
3. Choose cold water and a gentle cycle
Select cold water and the gentle cycle for your Soluna™ pajamas. Check the setting each time, especially if the previous load needed something different. It takes only a moment to notice that the machine still remembers the towel setting.
Use detergent according to its directions for your machine and load size. More detergent does not mean you have followed the care instructions more carefully. Skip fabric softener rather than adding it because the pajamas feel especially soft.
Keep this routine specific to ordinary clothing laundry. If an item needs special cleaning because of a particular mess, check the product instructions and care label before changing the process. Do not assume a hotter setting is suitable just because it feels like the quickest solution.
4. Treat stains without turning up the intensity
Spills happen, and a favorite print does not need to stay spotless to count as well loved. Check the care label before reaching for a stain product. Our Soluna™ care instructions say to avoid bleach and harsh stain treatments.
Read the cleaner's label too, including its fabric limits. Do not mix cleaning products or leave a treatment on longer than its instructions allow. If you cannot tell whether a product suits the pajamas, ask before using it.
After washing, look at the spot before choosing the next step. Do not use a hot dryer as a stain-removal shortcut. There is no single treatment that we can promise will remove every mark without affecting every print.
5. Keep drying gentle
For Soluna™, choose a low tumble-dry setting or hang the pajamas to dry. Check the dryer setting instead of assuming “normal” means low. If you hang them, give each piece space rather than leaving everything bunched together.
Plan for drying before bedtime when you can. Washing the only clean pair at the last minute can make high heat feel tempting. Keeping one ready-to-wear pair aside gives you more room to follow the label.
Make sure the clothes are fully dry before putting them away. Pair two-piece tops and bottoms as you fold so you are not hunting for the matching half later. For the print itself, skip the iron: our care guidance says not to iron on the print.
6. Give well-loved pairs a quick check
When you fold, look at the seams, cuffs and closures. Check that the zipper works smoothly and that no loose pieces need attention. If something looks wrong, set that pair aside and contact us with a clear photo.
Care cannot reverse outgrowing a pair. If the fit has changed, check your child's measurements and the product's size guide rather than trying to stretch the pajamas back into service. Keep fit checks separate from laundry fixes.
For hand-me-downs, check the label and condition again before passing the pair along. Include the care photo if you saved one. The next family should not need to guess how you washed it.
A real-life laundry setup
Picture two children with different pajama sizes and a hamper that fills up fast. You keep one small spot for gentle-wash items, leave the care photo on your phone, and pair tops with bottoms after drying. That is the whole system.
On laundry day, you sort similar colors, turn the Soluna™ pairs inside out and choose cold and gentle. You hang them or use low heat, then check and fold them once they are dry. The routine stays the same even when the prints change.
You do not need a special detergent collection, a spotless utility room or a complicated weekly schedule. You need the correct label, a few consistent settings and enough time for the clothes to dry. That is a much more useful goal than perfect laundry.
Quick questions
Can Soluna™ Bamboo pajamas go in the dryer?
Our current Soluna™ guidance allows tumble drying on low. Hanging them to dry is another option. Follow your pair's care label if it differs.
Should I use fabric softener?
No—our Soluna™ care instructions say to avoid it. Keep the wash routine simple and follow your detergent's directions.
Can I wash other H&B pajamas the same way?
Check each item's care label first. A shared brand name or a similar feel does not guarantee identical care instructions.
